Mud Dauber Workshops:

Come to our campus to transform the clay soil under our feet into beautiful cob walls and plasters! We have 11 demonstration cottages, 2 permitted natural homes, 2 earthen ovens, and a series of natural garden walls here. This collection of structures showcases a variety of natural wall systems, living and metal roofs, and a mix of foundation types.

The focus of our workshops is hands-on learning! Expect to get muddy and exhausted, and be able to go home with genuine knowledge of how to build for yourself. Tours, presentations, and discussions cover additional topics that we don’t get to on the building site.

Our multi-day workshops include delicious, wholesome meals that we share as a group. If you attend a workshop that is 3 or more days, you can look forward to a pizza dinner from our cob oven! We have two hot shower stalls available, compost toilet facilities, a pond to relax by, and a fire pit for evening gatherings.

Our experience at Mud Dauber was meaningful because of the opportunity to learn in a welcoming, patient, and light-hearted building environment. We came with relatively little building experience, but left feeling a deep appreciation for the accessibility of natural building and an eagerness to take on a project of our own. We want to promote the natural building educational opportunities that we host at our homestead/school.
